Lightshoe is owned and operated by Gary Kinzler. Gary’s idea of creating a lighter hotshoe came in 1998 as he watched riders in the pits. Realizing the weight of most steel shoes, he decided to develop a high performance shoe that weighed less. His machinist background and his own racing experience gave him just the knowledge he needed. With Scott Parker as his first sponsored rider, the first aluminum Lightshoe was built. Gary later perfected the Lightshoe by switching from aluminum to steel.
The Lightshoe is rather unique. It makes the shoe’s contact with the ground more stable, and, as Gary’s sponsored riders will confirm, its unique shape helps to keep each rider’s foot in the right direction while sliding. The sides of the Lightshoe are closed, so the shoe has no stress points when a rider is walking in the pits. A hard surface is used to coat where the point of contact happens. A “sole patch” is applied, which adds better protection. Gary also stamps the rider’s name, his business name and phone number, and a serial number inside each shoe.
Our Lightshoes are designed in a way that allows us to build them both light and strong! This special design uses lightweight material for comfort combined with maximum strength and durability. You no longer have to worry about having your hotshoe crack or break from walking around the pits. Lightshoe’s superior fit to your boot allows little or no dirt to wedge in between your hotshoe and boot, reducing the possibility of your shoe coming off in the middle of a race. Our Lightshoes are made of top quality 70,000 lb high tensile steel and welded with equally high tensile strength wire for the quality we are known for.
The goal here at Lightshoe is to make sure that all of our customers are satisfied and get a product they can trust. Our customers always get the attention and dedication they deserve!
